In Inca mythology, Pachamama and Inti are a mother and son deity. Pachamama is Mother Earth and one of the most important goddesses in the beliefs of the Andean indigenous people. She governs land fertility and ecological balance. Her son, the sun god Inti, brings sunlight and warmth to all things. This mother and son together symbolize the power of heaven and earth, guarding the people of South America.
